It's almost here!

Oh man, I can’t wait for motorcycle season to arrive. We’re almost there. The temperature managed to get up to 17C today and boy was I pining to go out and ride. Still, there is wayyyyy too much gravel on the road right now. Even though it is nice enough to be out riding, the roads are still slippery with debris. *sigh* Oh well, what can you do? Wait - I suppose.

I think there are more riders at work than there ever has been before. It’s going to be a fun season. At least 3 new guys have been hired into IT that ride, plus 2 more are taking courses this summer to get their license and at least one of those guys has already offered money on a used bike. I’ll have to see about finding a new place to park before coming in to work this year. Spots are disappearing every year. It’s too bad too because soon enough there won’t be any places to park my bike and I’ll have to stop riding to work in the summer.

Really good friends of mine (Darren and Lori) just invested in a 2005 Goldwing. What a beauty. So I imagine there will be a few trips planned with them as well. Plus, Darren has sold his bike to Dez (or Zed as we like to call him), which was an older Goldwing (1981 if I recall). It has a rebuilt engine, but needs a little paint. Nonetheless, 2 wheels on the ground is still a very good thing. Maybe if I can get them to pose with their rides, I’ll see about posting a couple of pictures here.

Well, time to put the battery on the trickle charger and make sure everything is in order for when I decide to get my v-star back on the road. Maybe by the end of March. *fingers crossed*.

That’s a relief

I finally managed to get a hold of my doctor’s office to find out the test results of my Thallium Stress Test. I’m still not sure why the office was closed but the worry has eased. I’m told that there are no new blockages although my chart did show a bit of ischemia which I believe is from my original heart attack. Whew. I’m still ticking over without any serious glitches. It is definitely a relief to know that I’m not in jeopardy and that that the discomfort I was feeling is due to something else. I’m still not sure what the “something else” might be though. At least I can go back to exercising again and enjoying some of the activities I’ve been missing out on. On another note, I’m down 7 lbs from the beginning of January. I’m still on track to loose a couple pounds a week. Hopefully it will be enough to win the FBC, but even if I don’t, I’ll be very pleased to have dropped a bit of weight in the process.

Arrrrg ... stupid doctors...

So I make it to my appointment last week to have the Thallium test done, and while I'm getting the test, one of the nurses tells me there is a note on my chart. "Jason there is a request here for you to call Dr Boyne on Monday for the results". Ok... no biggie, I already knew this... so I'm not giving it too much thought.

Yesterday afternoon, I call the office. The answering machine tells me that they will be closed from the 11th to the 22nd. Today is the 16th. What the hell? They get me psyched up by telling me that they rushed me in to get this test done to make sure I'm not going to suddenly die from an unexpected blockage. It was the soonest they could fit me in. If they needed to take immediate action they wanted me to know about it as soon as possible after my test. At no time did they ever tell me that they would be closed the week following my test. In fact I was lead to believe that I should be getting info as soon as the Monday after my test (Jan 15). Now I get to stress out over this for another week? Do they have any clue what they are doing to me? Talk about a piss off.

Well, there's nothing to do but wait. I don't think it will do any good to give them a piece of my mind anyway. I don't think they really care. Jerks. sheesh.
